A sublimely festive program concludes the series as La Speranza explores the complex joy that we experience in a community. A quintet for flute, oboe, violin, viola, and cello by Johann Christian Bach (the eighteenth son of Johann Sebastian Bach) as well as a trio for flute, violin, and cello by Haydn combine and illuminate uncommon allies between winds and strings. Mozart’s effervescent Oboe Quartet brings the program and season to a joyful close.
